Creativity Day Real DIY projects for home and bath — honest and doable

About Creativity Day

Creativity Day is an independent online magazine for people who would rather pick up a drill than pick up the phone to a contractor. We believe your home is the best workshop you will ever have, and that almost anyone can learn to transform it — one honest, well-planned project at a time.

What we cover

Our focus is DIY home improvement with a special love for the hardest-working room in the house: the bathroom. In our Bathroom Renovation section we break big, intimidating jobs into clear stages, from re-grouting tile to planning a full refit. Interiors covers the rooms you live in every day — paint, trim, lighting, flooring and the details that make a space feel finished. Creative Storage is where we fight clutter with clever, buildable solutions, because a shelf you made yourself always fits better. And Weekend Projects collects satisfying builds and fixes you can genuinely start on Saturday morning and admire by Sunday night.

How we write

Plenty of websites show you a flawless after photo. We show you the before, the during, and the moment the tile saw jams. Every project guide on Creativity Day tells you up front how hard the job really is, roughly what it costs, which tools you need, and where beginners typically go wrong. We publish step-by-step guides, before-and-after ideas that explain exactly what changed, and planning checklists you can print and take to the hardware store.

We are upbeat because DIY is genuinely fun, and honest because nothing kills the fun faster than discovering halfway through that a 'one-hour job' needs a plumber and a permit. If a project calls for a licensed electrician or plumber, we will tell you so, clearly. Encouragement and realism are not opposites — together they are how projects actually get finished.

Who we are

Creativity Day is written by a small team of hands-on homeowners, makers and tradespeople-turned-writers. We are not sponsored by tool brands, and when we recommend a material or technique it is because we have used it, sanded it, regretted it or loved it ourselves. We publish in English, French and Dutch, because good ideas deserve to travel.

Our mission is simple: to help you start the project you have been putting off, finish the one you started, and feel proud of your home because you shaped it with your own hands. Grab your tape measure. Today is a good day to build something.
